THE CONFIGURATION SCREEN
The first screen you will see is the SysOp's Config screen. Here
is where you will find where you insert your SetUp, Category Definitions,
your Items and Discriptions, etc. We'll go thru these one at a time:

Under General SetUp, Set the cursor bar on the lines you want to
change. Most are self-explanitory (your name, your BBS name, your company
name, company phone) but the rest we will go into a little more detail:
PROFIT MULTIPLYER: You will enter in a decimal point telling the program
how much of a profit margin you want based on your
wholesale cost. When entering in items, the wholesale
cost you enter will be multiplied by this number
giving you a "retail price". You can override this
if you want to enter in a retail price separately when
you fill in your Item Discriptions.
(See page ## about entering in retail prices).
STATE SALES TAX: This is where you will enter in your State Sales Tax.
This is formatted to the 100th of a percent
(i.e 5% sales tax should appear as 5.00).
MINIMUM SHIPPING CHARGE: If you have a minimum shipping charge for any
and all orders. This amount will be added to all orders
UNLESS selected shipping exceeds this amount.
This item can be used if you charge a delivery charge but
you can override this if you choose to enter in a
charge separately when you fill in your Item Discriptions.
(See page ## about entering in shipping charges)
SHIPPING TYPE: This is where you will enter you primary mail order
shipping charges. Most companies use either Fed Ex or
UPS, but you may choose to use a local or OTR trucking
company for shipping. You will need to know the
breakdown of the individual shipping prices using $$ for
the first pound and each additional pound.
VARIOUS CREDIT TYPES: Under each of the credit cards and other types of
payments enter a [Y] or [N] corresponding to the type(s)
of financing your company offers. Under COD, if you
select [Y], if you charge an additional $$, you will
enter it after the [Y].

In this screen is where you enter your various categories you use
to group your items you sell. You can modify the categories as well
as [Insert] and [Delete] items. The TEST DRIVE version will
ONLY UTILIZE 2 CATEGORIES and 2 ITEMS EACH.
[Enter] selects the Category you wish to modify.
[Esc] exits this routine.
CATEGORY ITEMS AND DISCRIPTIONS: This option initially displays the listing
of all categories. As stated before, The TEST-DRIVE version
only utilizes 2 categories. [Insert] and [Delete] will work
In the TEST DRIVE VERSION but only 2 items will actually be
utilized. This way you can be all set up by the time you
recieve your registered copy.
If you wish to insert a new category:
- Hit the [Insert] key. This will insert a category called "*Empty*"
Place the cursor bar on this category and press [Enter].
If you wish to modify an existing category:
- Place the cursor bar on the desired category and hit [Enter] to
select that category.
This will bring you into the following screen:

As you see, you have the option of using 4 Part #s. The On-Line
Catalog will only display Part #1 to the Users. The other 3 Part #s
can be utilized for Vendor Information if you wish, but are not
utilized by the program. This is only for YOUR information.
TAXABLE: You will enter either a [Y] or an [N] to state whether the item
is Taxable or not depending on what your State Tax code states.
WHOLESALE: Where you will enter the wholesale $ amount for the item. When
you hit [Enter] after typing in your Wholesale amount you will notice
that a $$ amount will show up under "Retail". This is due to the
"Profit Multiplyer" you stated in GENERAL SETUP.
*NOTE: If you place "0" (zero) in this field, the word "CALL" will
come up under the "Retail" Price. This is utilized due to
some products having a fluctuating price (i.e. Hard Disk
Drives, MotherBoards, etc.) This will notify the user
that he/she will have to call your office for a current
retail price.
RETAIL: As stated above, this $$ amount is automatically generated by
whatever you entered in the "WholeSale" field. However, this price
can be overridden by entering this field and typing the $ amount
you desire.
MINIMUM QUANTITY OR UNIT: This field will enable you to enter a minimum
quantity amount that the user has to purchase of that particular
item.
MINIMUM SHIPPING CHARGE: Minimum amount to be added to this item. When
this item is purchased, this amount will always be added but is
overridden if the Selected Shipping Charge EXCEEDS this amount.
This amount is NEVER added to the selected shipping charge. It is
either the Minimum Shipping Charge OR the Selected Shipping Charge
whichever is greater. (see below)
WEIGHT IN LBS (if applicable): The weight of the item. This weight works
in conjunction with the "Shipping Type" selected by the user.
In some instances, an item will not have any appreciable weight. In
which case, the minimum shipping charge will be used. For instance,
You may sell diamond rings, which have a minimal weight. But, due to
shipping insurance, you would attach a Minimum Shipping Charge to the
item.
SHORT DISCRIPTION: A 60 Character field which is displayed to the user
in the line-by-line category listing.
LONG DISCRIPTION: 5 Lines, 60 Characters each line for you to type
an extended description of the item you are selling. This is
displayed when the user selects "Info on an Item".

outside financing, or if you company "happens" to have the
option of direct payment from the customers bank account. This
information is STRICTLY confidential, and will NOT be shown
ANYWHERE else in the program!!
In most cases, the users "bill to" and "ship to" are the same. BUT
if there are any changes in these fields (or in any other part of the

Introduction to The On-Line Catalog......
--------------------------------------
Using the On-Line Catalog is fairly self-explanitory once you actually
enter into the program. The way the screens are set up, even the most
inexperienced BBS novice can freely hop through and place orders.
This Catalog is only a sales TOOL, and is not an accounting package.
Plans are in the making for eventually being able to interface with
various accounting and sales packages. With really nothing more to say
at this time, lets go into the usage of this powerful sales tool.....
===============================================================================
The Usage of The On-Line Catalog.....
-----------------------------------
INITIALLY ENTERING THE DOOR:
When you first enter into the Catalog (as a user), you will be given a
"WELCOME" screen. As the screen states, this is to notify the user that he/she
has never entered the relm of The On-Line Catalog. When they hit [Enter], the
program will put them in their "USER SETTINGS":

Here is where the User/Customer will have to update/change some of
their personal information. Notice that ALL users will have to enter their
"Street Address" ([1] & [6]). Door.SYS does not allocate this information, as
well as some other pertinant information pertaining to the purchase of products
that you, the Vendor/SysOp needs to complete your sales. At this point in time,
the "Bill To" and the "Ship To" Information is the same. Sometimes, Users want
products billed to them, but shipped to another location (i.e. around Christmas
time). They can change [5] - [8] as well if need be.
After the User has made the necessary changes to their settings, they
hit [Enter], and it brings them to the MENU SCREEN:

When graphics are disables, absolutely NO ansi codes are sent.
Although ANSI.SYS (or equivalent) MUST be active on the host BBS.

[I]nformation: External ANSI screen that the SysOp can modify to show
users what they sell, or any other info about their company.
[L]ist Categories: Self-explanitory. This is the list of the various
categories that the user goes into to find the products that they
are looking for.
[P]rocess Order: When the customer is finished selecting items, and
they are ready to have you fill the order. This optins will
actually write the order to disk. If [P]rocess is not selected
the order is not saved. After [P]rocess is selected the user
"thankyou.scr" is displayed, and the user is sent back
to the bbs with no further delay.
[Q]uit to BBS: Out the Door and back to the BBS.

go for it. (See @PAUSE@ option below before doing this)

This is what it says, a screen to put additional information
about your great company and its products. Use it for whatever
you want, specials maybe.
THANKYOU.SCR
THANKYOU.BBS
This screen is sent AFTER a quote is processed by the caller,
use it to say whatever you feel is best after someone buys something
from you.
GOODBYE.SCR
GOODBYE.BBS
This is the last file a caller sees as they exit the door,
again if you don't want it just delete it. With many bbs's these
days it goes so fast that they can't see it anyway. But it's
up to you.
@PAUSE@ option:
Some of these screens can be longer then one page, when this
happens the door will AUTOMATICALLY force a pause at the 23rd
line. However you can force the pause before that with @PAUSE@.
@PAUSE@ must be the FIRST and ONLY thing on that line of the
screen. Also, it MUST be upper case as shown.
